Mike Place

Mike Place is an IT Executive with many years of experience in the technology business. He has founded and led successful technology companies throughout his career, including co-founding RSPN.

RSPN was developed to meet the technology needs of small to medium businesses in our community. My business partner and I recognized a need in our market for a Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) that helps businesses utilize technology to meet their goals.  So many IT companies just fix things when they break, but we prevent problems before they happen and focus on being strategic with technology solutions that drive business.

I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Psychology and the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Computer Science. Then, I started my first IT services company in 1994. Sales, sales engineering/design, customer service and staff management are among the skills I utilize daily. I also don’t mind getting into the thick of technical support to make sure our clients succeed.

I have developed several areas of technical expertise including Cisco and Cisco Meraki routing, switching, wireless and firewalls, Microsoft desktop, and server operating systems.

I love applying my experience as a strategic troubleshooter to complex problems that, when solved, result in significant business gains. As an EOS evangelist, I have filled the role of both visionary and integrator. This has helped me develop the skills to know where the company needs to go and the ability to organize and motivate team members to get there.

In my free time, I enjoy bike riding, golfing, hunting, water skiing, and fishing at the Mississippi river. Above all, I enjoy working with our great clients.
